I Was Shopping For Christmas…

 I was shopping for Christmas,
When a door opened wide
And gripped with excitement,
I st Then I asked very kindly,
“ Have you got any grace?
They smiled and replied
“ It’s all over the place”
There was “ Kindness, Sincerity,
Manners and Respect “
And a sign said
“Salvation, just call and collect.”

I found “Peace, I found  “Joy,”
I thought it was great.
I tried to buy beauty,
But they said “It’s too late.”
So I asked could they recommend
A really good diet?
And they said “Starvation”
and urged me to try it.

Though my basket was full,
I tucked one more prayer in
Because I knew just outside,
I’d run right into sin.

I just couldn’t believe
It was a second hand store
But the manageress assured me,
It’s all been used before
My visit to the OP Shop
Was a real Christmas treat
As everything’s free
It’s for everyone you meet.

I stepped right inside.
I felt sort of humble,
But I felt good because
Every good thing in life –
Before me, there it was.

The staff were all angels,
They were standing everywhere,
One handed me a basket, and said,
“Shop with care.”
And if you can’t carry it,
We deliver anywhere
We’ll bring it with pleasure,
“ On a wing and a prayer.”

Well, I first got some “Patience,”
I knew mine was getting low
And some packets of “Love”
On the very same row.
I thought I need “Wisdom”
I’d get some, if I could
They said it’s expensive,
But “ it’s very, very good”

How about “Understanding”,
I need plenty of that
They said it’s on special,
“Keep it under your hat.”

Keep it under your hat

Keep it under your hat

Then I asked very kindly,
